Year 6 Rehearsals for the play Oliver
Rehearsals have now begun!
Year 6 have now started rehearsing for the play called ‘Oliver’. Everyone has been given their scripts and the scenery is starting to be made.
Members of the cast have not only had to learn all of their lines but have also had to learn the songs that go with this musical. We haven’t got long until the Oliver play and all the teachers hope that everyone has got their words right, especially Miss Campbell! Just 4 more weeks until the play.

Andy Mulligan visits SJS
This morning we had an inspiring and interesting talk from author Andy Mulligan who told us some of the fascinating stories behind the books that he has written. We are thankful to Andy and to the Norfolk Children's Book Centre for the opportunity to hear all about Andy's work and life as an author.

HSBC School Bank!
The staff of the Sprowston Junior School HSBC bank had another busy morning! The school bank is open fortnightly on Wednesdays before school and many children have opened accounts with the bank so far this year. It is a great opportunity to get children saving money. You will find the staff are very welcoming and friendly!

'Hope For Chiminuka' is ready!
Have a look at our finished gorilla whom the children have named 'Hope For Chiminuka'. The idea for the name came from a real gorilla that the children were told about in assembly. We will learn soon where 'Hope For Chiminuka' will spend the summer in Norwich. I'm sure you'll agree that the children have done a fabulous job in combining all their designs. Well done to Miss Johnson and
all the children involved!

Sprowston Junior's Gorilla Design
Exciting news... our lovely plain gorilla has started it's make over! The competition winners have been working hard with Miss Johnson, to start painting. The design is using a combination of all 9 winning designs.
Caitlin and Theepan worked hard together, to paint the jumper and trousers on the gorilla. It's going to be wearing our school uniform!
Ella and Holly were next to paint... they worked on the base colour for the head and feet...what detail do you think will be added next?
Then Simon, Adam and Ella, began to add extra detail. Ella's idea was for the gorilla to have a maths brain using lots of symbols for the detail. Adam's design was for the gorilla to wear cheeky monster shoes... look at them on it's back feet! Simon gave the gorilla a cool watch to read the time on.
Remember, you have give your suggestions for the gorilla's name in the main entrance. Post your suggestion into the box, with your own name and class also on the piece of paper.
Hope for Chiminuka is finished!! Well done to all the artists! We have named the gorilla after our own gorilla, that we have raised money to spronsor though the Born Free Trust.

Year 6 Winners!
The school football team had the disappointment of losing in the semi-final of the cup last week but bounced back in fine style to record a 7-1 victory in the last game of the season. This meant they were unbeaten in the league and received the league trophy in assembly this morning. Well done to all the boys who played and to Mr Reeds and Mr Ingham for their managerial expertise! Also, a thank you to all the parents who supported the team throughout the season.
